Lots of great games this month and no time to play them it seems:

Grand Theft Auto 4, the daddy of open ended driving games, graced us late last month. Fantastic, simply fantastic, loving every moment of gameplay and finding new and unknown secrets. Still haven’t completed it, but that simply is a case of my lack of time.

Ikaruga, one of the best 2D shooters I have every played, was released on Xbox Live as well. This took me by surprise, I didn’t know they were going head with the release until a few days afterwards. A great game, bring back so many memories. One additional feature I enjoy is looking at the replays of high ranked gamers, the routes are pretty sick.

Team Fortress 2. New life has been brought back into the old-girl in the form of Medic Achievements. Loving the idea, and after a solid 2 weeks of gameplay, I have finally gotten my Ubersaw! So much fun playing this game again: chaos, mayhem and destruction.

Silver Surfer

JD and I first played this game over 8 months ago, after we heard it was insanely difficult. After a brief session yesterday, I have finally completed one level of Silver Surfer.

Happy New Year everyone!

I have managed to survive yet another year to make it to that time when New Year’s Resolutions are made. I don’t even remember what last year’s resolutions were but this year I have decided to make simply one:

Take more photographs. I have hardly any photographs of friends and family at all - which is pitiful due to camera I’ve owned. I’m going to try and take one photo everyday this year, should make an interesting portfolio.

Cabel (famed for all those DS Lite Comedy Review Videos) has published a new video simply called Buggy Saints Row: The Musical. It turns out that Saints Row is loaded full of bugs so much so that as Cabel played, he would have at hand a digital camera to take a short video as each problem occurred.

Quote from the man:

For a long time now, I’ve wanted to share these bug videos with you, but I wasn’t convinced they were quite funny enough. They needed a hot comedy injection, a little something to tie it all together. And then it hit me: musical theatre. What better compliment to the rough and tumble world of Saints Row?

Blizzcon Videos

(April 28th, 2006 @ 0828 - Stephen - Gaming)

While clearing an old hard-drive, I discovered a series of quicktime videos I took at Blizzcon. While most of these were taken at the starter area of the new Horde race, The Blood Elves, there is one video of the new expansion which will be included in the Burning Crusade.

I’ve converted the videos to XVID AVI so if your player starts bitching about codecs, you might want to get something like vlc or mplayer:

Instance: Karazhan
Blood Elves
Blood Elf Dance - Male & Female

What’s Japanese for Pre-Order?

Nintendo are a crazy bunch aren’t they? OK, so not everything they have touched as turned to gold (R.O.B, Virtual Boy) but they have some real fantastic products under their belt and I know that the Nintendo: Revolution will be their best yet. Any console which will allow me to legally download retro content onto my console is worth a gamble however, that isn’t all - turns out Revolution will also allow emulation for the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx. That combined with the rumoured low initial cost (around £100 I heard) and this so called flash-in-the-pan will murder Microsoft and Sony.

Corleone Family will have revenge

(March 20th, 2006 @ 1007 - Stephen - Gaming)

When EA first announced that they were doing a Godfather video-game I was a little skeptical. Soon my trust grew as I heard more and more about the project, such as getting the original actors to do the voicing and reprise their original roles in virtual form. I was wrong, my original instinct was correct.

This game is shockingly bad - do not buy this game. It’s a giant step backwards in the video-game community, it isn’t fun to play at all. They seem to have attempted a Grand Theft Auto MOD but set in the 40s. You have missions, you have car-jacking, you can assault people using various tools such as guns and fists; you even save in a safe house.
