Nintendo are a crazy bunch aren’t they? OK, so not everything they have touched as turned to gold (R.O.B, Virtual Boy) but they have some real fantastic products under their belt and I know that the Nintendo: Revolution will be their best yet. Any console which will allow me to legally download retro content onto my console is worth a gamble however, that isn’t all - turns out Revolution will also allow emulation for the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx. That combined with the rumoured low initial cost (around £100 I heard) and this so called flash-in-the-pan will murder Microsoft and Sony.

Job front is looking slim again - a really promising job in Edinburgh turned to shock-horror when they said they wouldn’t take me because they were looking for someone with experience and didn’t have the resources for training. It’s always the same story - no company is willing to give a break to someone recently graduated without XYZ experience.

It does pain me that all of the interviews I have had, have ended in: If you had some commercial experience.. Story of the year. I don’t want to waste my time idling around playing video-games so part of me is thinking of further education as a form of backup but I don’t really know what to study and even if I did, is it really a route I want to take? Working abroad is always an option but once again, is it something I really want to do?

I might start applying for jobs outside my sector, using my other skills such as Journalism and Graphical-Design but those industries are even more cut-throat than IT.

When EA first announced that they were doing a Godfather video-game I was a little skeptical. Soon my trust grew as I heard more and more about the project, such as getting the original actors to do the voicing and reprise their original roles in virtual form. I was wrong, my original instinct was correct.

This game is shockingly bad - do not buy this game. It’s a giant step backwards in the video-game community, it isn’t fun to play at all. They seem to have attempted a Grand Theft Auto MOD but set in the 40s. You have missions, you have car-jacking, you can assault people using various tools such as guns and fists; you even save in a safe house.

That’s it, I’ve had enough - I’ve done as many templates as I can do without nit-picking at stuff.

I’ve only just noticed the insanely small width of the sidebar compared to the proposed calendar which means I’ll have to shift everything at one point - though not today. Haven’t done pages yet or even archive sections yet but those are empty right now so there isn’t a real need.

Today I’ll slowly implement the code I was working on yesterday.

I never got round to playing with the calendar so I’ll have to deal with that some other time, but the rest of the design is finished - just have to cut the CSS and the template up. Wordpress more open than I though and it’s just a simple case of looking up a tag and figuring out the format of the arguments.

Everything is fairly broken at the moment obvious so reading comments and posting them will be offline until I make that template for that.

Ok, I’ve finished the whole design of the new blog - problem is I don’t know how to create the calendar system I have designed.

Does Wordpress use tags for each element of the calendar? That, by the way, is the reason why there is a random calendar in the middle of this blog right now - just so I can have a look at how the calendar is structured. I would like to use the Wordpress structure but I feel I may have to write my own calendar.

Didn’t take very long to make one, only 1 hour.

I used a previous design I had for a calendar, though God knows how I’m going to write it.

As you can see I’ve had to reinstall Wordpress. I’ve decided to stop using other peoples’ layouts and write one myself, perhaps include some of the designs I’ve been holding onto these last few years.

Tme will tell if procrastination gets to me or not. Time will tell.
